Rural Enterprise Development Solutions (REDS) evolved from Rural Enterprise Development Services Ltd as a not-for-profit organisation in December 2015 and now boasts of combined 12-year experience used to impact the Ugandan smallholder farmer community. Our focus is on educating farming communities to adopt more efficient farming practices that protect their lives; soils; the environment they live in; working in groups to cause positive social change to improve their livelihoods and; voluntarily advance the common good in the communities.
At REDS, we pride ourselves in developing practical solutions and imparting knowledge for smallholder farmers in terms of technical assistance, access to agro-inputs, produce markets, and effective guide on the farming calendar across all regions of Uganda. In giving practical hands-on training & guidance, we unlock productivity enhancement opportunities while advising on how best to tackle negative effects on the environment due to climate change.
REDS offers climate-smart agriculture technologies that work and have immense agricultural commercial development experience. They possess significant and well-proven experience in organizing and training successful commercially driven farmer-owned Producer Organizations (POs) and specialized in the implementation of Conservation Farming (CF) minimum tillage practices.

Conservation Farming Unit (CFU) Zambia is our funding partner, who is very instrumental for us in promoting conservation farming in Uganda. Since 2011, we are an implementing partner of CFU with funding from the Royal Norwegian Embassy and NORAD and have received contributions of close to US$5 million to implement conservation farming with climate-smart agriculture technologies in Uganda.
